The funding deal to provide $A958m to the Opel Networks consortium led by Singtel Optus for the "Broadband Connect" initiative has been suspended by the Australian Government. An industry source said the Government was acting on legal advice, obviously related to Telstra's court action. The telco alleges the Australian Government did not follow the proper processes when it awarded the funding to Opel to build a broadband network
